JB6 also preformed a "show," singing "I've Been Working on the Railroad" with her good friend Caleigh.  They made posters, and then they made tickets which they handed out to all of the moms and children.  They set up chairs to make a "theater" and performed their show.  They did a very nice job.

The children watched the snow and stayed in their pj’s all day long today! Was a kick-back, fun school day!

Artistic Pursuits:
“Artists Imagine: Make a picture in your mind.”  The girls took an “information-gathering trip” around the house and then drew the things that they saw.

“Look at Imagination in 20th Century France.” 
Studied Marc Chagall’s 1915 The Birthday

Using watercolor crayons, watercolor paper and a brush, the girls painted a picture of a time that they remembered and enjoyed. JB6 chose Christmas morning and AN4 chose JD1’s 1st birthday party. Works entitled: “The Dancing Christmas Tree” and “James’ Birthday.”

 

Craft Time:
Valentines for the Troops: Girls made Valentines cards for those in the military. Discussed the importance of showing appreciation to those who serve our country in the military.

NEW YEARS EVE PARTY! 68/175
Hubby surprised us when he came home from work last night with the necessities for ice cream brownie sundays to ring in the new year with the children!  Neither of us expected that J6 would actually stay up till midnight but while the rest of the house slept, J6 and I watched the ball drop and counted down the seconds of the last minute of 2010 in our pj's! 

Also did a holiday craft with each child's individual pictures of 2010 and did some house-keeping, catch-up, school stuff.
